Paneer Tikki

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Now the season calls for a hot stuff to be relished, isn’t it? Yes, and what is better than eating kanda bhajis, watching the heavy rains pour, through the window screen? But that has become a daily recipe for many, so we thought of trying and sharing something new and filling which you'll like instantly.

To prepare Panner tikki, take 4 Paneer (Cottage cheese) cubes. Cut each cube into 4 pieces. Now prepare the dough with 1 cup of gram flour, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1-1/2 tsp of corrainder powder, 1-1/2 tsp of jeera powder, ½ tsp of turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice to taste. If need be, add required amount of water, but don’t make the dough too loose.

Now, put the cut cheese cubes into the dough, roll them with a thick coat of the flour. And then deep fry each separately.

Delicious Paneer tikki is ready to be eaten with sauce or chutney.

Now isn't that so damn easy?! And you thought that the cook at the neighborhood restaurant was awesome?!

This is Gujarat favourite, usually when one is not well. But otherwise also, when I just recently had it, it tastes nice when hot and nicely made.

So let’s have it to stay away from illness ;-) (Recipe on the side panel)

Did You Know ?

Paneer is the most common South Asian Cheese.

The texture of paneer is very similar to that of Greek feta cheese or Turkish Beyaz peynir

India is the second largest producer of Peanuts after China. (More the people, more the nuts !! )

Paint, varnish, lubricating oil, leather dressings, furniture polish, insecticides, and nitroglycerin are made from peanut oil. Soap is made from saponified oil, and many cosmetics contain peanut oil and its derivatives. The protein portion of the oil is used in the manufacture of some textile fibers.

Peanut shells are put to use in the manufacture of plastic, wallboard, abrasives, and fuel.
